Frequently asked questions
What is managed security as a service?
MSaaS is an ongoing service plan for your physical security system. We monitor the health of your cameras and devices, respond proactively when something goes down, maintain your camera equipment, check it for compliance, alert you to power outages and breaches, and send a monthly report of every incident.
How is MSaaS different from live video monitoring?
Live video monitoring watches your property for intruders and responds to threats in real time. Managed service watches your security system itself, making sure cameras, recorders, and devices are working and maintained. Many businesses use both, so the cameras are healthy and someone is watching them.
What happens when a camera goes offline?
We’re alerted when a device stops responding, and we respond proactively, often before you notice the gap. Depending on the cause, we resolve it remotely or send a technician, and the event appears in your monthly report so you have a record of what happened.
What kind of compliance checks do you do?
We check your security equipment against the compliance and regulatory requirements that apply to your business, such as how long video must be kept and which areas must be covered. Requirements vary by industry and location, so we review yours when we set up your plan.
What's in the monthly report?
Every incident from the month, including security breaches, power outages, devices that went offline, and the service we performed. It gives you a clear record for management, insurers, or auditors without having to pull the information together yourself.
Who services the equipment?
Our own trained technicians. They’re certified in the operation and maintenance of the equipment and software we install, and they’ve worked across many industries designing and servicing security systems. The same team maintains your system and responds when a device goes down, so they already know your sites.
Can a managed plan cover multiple locations?
Yes. A managed plan can cover all of your sites, with alerts and monthly reporting for every location. That’s especially helpful when your locations don’t have their own IT or security staff to keep an eye on the equipment.
Do I need to replace my current equipment first?
Not necessarily. We review your current system when we set up the plan and tell you which devices are in good shape and which are near the end of their life. Replacing failing devices up front keeps the plan focused on maintenance instead of repairs.
How much does managed security cost?
Plans are based on the size of your system, the number of sites, and the level of service you need. We review your equipment and goals during a free assessment and send a written quote, so you know the cost of the plan up front.
